Today, our 1st and 7th grade buddies met and spent a little time in the sunshine getting to know one another! If you are a SM alum, do you remember your buddy? ... See MoreSee Less

We are happy to introduce you to 3 new faces that you will see around school!
πLast, but not least: Mrs Tracy Meyerπ
Hello. My name is Tracy Meyer. I will be teaching PE and Health for grades 6-8. I am excited to join the team at St Mary. I grew up in Sunman and went to East Central. I graduated from Purdue and Ball State. I love to spend time with my family, go on jeep rides, take walks, play cards, and watch my children participate in sports.
I reside in Oldenburg with my husband Rick. We have 3 adult children-Peyton, Morgan, and Colt and 2 Australian Shepherds that love to go for car rides.
After retiring from SDCSC as a Special Education teacher in 2024, I am excited to get back in the gym, where I was prior as a PE teacher at Sunman Elementary and SDMS, to share my love of sports and fitness.
ππWelcome to the team, Mrs Meyer! ππ

πNext up: Ms. Karen Hellmich 7th grade ELA π
Hello, my name is Karen Hellmich and I am excited to begin this coming school year at St. Maryβs School. I will be teaching 7th grade ELA and Religion. I have lived in Decatur County most of my life. When I was younger I attended St. Maryβs School (in the old school of course). Being able to keep learning is the best part about being an educator, and I am excited to learn from the valuable teachers and administration that I will be working with this year. I have experience teaching preschool-8th grade. I have taught 5th grade for the last several years. Last year, I volunteered to teach the 7th/8th religion class here at St. Maryβs. This age group was fun to interact with and to speak about our faith with. I am looking forward to meeting our students and helping them with their education journey.
ππWelcome to the team, Ms Hellmich! ππ

πFirst up: Mrs. Patty Mauer, 4th grade ELA π
Mrs Mauer is so excited to be returning to St. Maryβs School and the fourth grade classroom.
She loves spending time walking through their woods, taking jeep rides, playing games and baking with her grandchildren, and turning the pages of a good book.
She and her husband Larry have four children and 10 grandchildren.
She looks forward to discovering the many talents of the students in her classroom, helping them develop a closer relationship with Christ, and showing them that reading and writing can open up a world that allows their imaginations to soar.
