The students were treated to an adorable character building program on Friday. River, the blind pitbull, and his owner came to share River’s story of perseverance, compassion, and unconditional love. A big thank you to SMAFA for sponsoring the program and purchasing River’s books for our elementary classrooms as well as a giveaway to 10 lucky students! Happy spring break, everyone!

📚You’re never too old for a picture book! 📚
Reading to children is a major contributor to reading fluency. It strengthens comprehension, gives opportunities to learn new vocabulary, and sparks a love for reading for enjoyment! Our 2nd & 3rd graders look forward to a Picture Book a Day with their teachers. If you have a student in one of these grades, be sure to ask them about the “Picture Book of the Day!” 🫶🏼📚🫶🏼
