ST MARYS CROSS COUNTRY
Decatur County Cup
St. Maryโs Cross country runners had their first meet of the season on Saturday, August 17th at the Decatur County Invite hosted at Greensburgโs home course. The boys placed first and brought home the traveling trophy! Fletcher Hash 2nd (12:28), Nolan Hash 3rd (12:48), Nolan Wells 5th (13:18), Maxwell Gauck 6th (13:44.2), Andrew Stier 7th (13:44.4), and Landen Fuel 9th (14:58) all earned top 10 ribbons!
The girls also ran an outstanding race, placing second in the invite! Caitlyn Kendall (13:49), Josie Slaven (13:52), and Kelsey Slaven (14:08) were in the top 10 placing 5th, 6th, and 7th respectively. Tessa Hersley (17:12), Alex Fry (17:54), and Sydney Fry (18:00) ran closely together, placing 12th, 13th, and 14th respectively. Caroline Lutterbach (19:11), Kendal Nesbit (19:32), Briley Stier (19:37), Ava Meyer (19:37), Anna Davis (19:39) and Gwen Gauck (27:53) all showed improvements in their first race of the season.
Monday, Aug. 19 Home vs. Batesville, Columbus Christian
St. Maryโs Cross country runners competed in their second meet of the season on Monday, August 19th at home against Batesville and Columbus Christian. The boys won the meet, beating Batesville by 1 point. The boys all ran season best times. Fletcher Hash 2nd (12:16), Nolan Hash 3rd (12:41), Nolan Wells 6th (13:00), Andrew Stier 7th (13:28), and Maxwell Gauck 9th (13:40) finished in the top 10 in a race where every position mattered. Landen Fuel (14:45) and Evan Pike (16:58) both ran a great race and continue to show improvement in their times.
The girls also ran a great race last night, placing second in the meet behind Batesville. Caitlyn Kendall 3rd (13:11), Josie Slaven 4th (13:20), and Kelsey Slaven 6th (13:33) placed in the top 10 with season best times. Tessa Hersley (16:34), Caroline Lutterbach (17:10), Alex Fry (17:34), Sydney Fry (17:16), Kendall Nesbit (17:55), Briley Stier (18:02), Ava Myer (18:40), Ana Davis (19:07), and Gwen Gauck (22:30) ran season best times and continued to show improvements.

Did you notice our new window designs on our interior main entrance doors at open house last night!? A huge THANK YOU to the Decatur County Community Foundation for supporting our safety upgrades with one of their large grants! Thank you also to the St Maryโs Parish Festival for contributing funds to make these upgrades possible!!
Something you may not have noticed: we upgraded our existing security cameras and added 8 additional cameras! Safety is a huge priority at SM and we are thankful the grant and generous contributions we received have been able to help us make these upgrades.
