Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is life-threatening emergency that happens when the heart stops beating. It happens in people of all ages, including kids, and comes on with no warning. It’s NOT a heart attack – it’s a structural or electrical issue with the heart.

SCA can be fatal if it’s not treated immediately. But the best way to protect your child is through testing to determine risk for SCA.

Don’t miss your chance to have your student screened for SCA. Giving Hearts a Hand in partnership with Decatur County Memorial Hospital Health Connect is offering low-cost, $15 screenings at Health Connect at the Decatur County YMCA on Tuesday, June 18. The screenings are sponsored by MCORE Foundation, a nationally-recognized non-profit dedicated to preventing SCA in youths and young adults through education, screening, and research, and funded by a generous donation from Giving Hearts a Hand.

Congratulations to the 3rd-8th grade students making All A & AB Honor Roll for the 3rd quarter.

A huge thank you to the Colts organization for bringing their Big Blue Colts Football camp to our school! Students in grades 2-5 learned that it’s important to work hard (in school) and play hard, too! They were encouraged to get out and play at least 60 minutes a day. Some lucky kids even got autographs from NFL legend, Mike Pryor. Coach Mike won a Super Bowl ring as a GB Packer and later earned another one working with the Colts organization. It was a great day! ... See MoreSee Less

What a fantastic day! Laura Numeroff, author of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, was in town! Our kindergarten and first grade students were invited to GES to participate in some fun activites with her.
You can have your chance to meet the author at the library this evening, 4:30-5:30.
Each student at SM in grades K-3 received a free book made possible by some very amazing donors: Rex & Robin McKinney, SMAFA, The Napoleon State Bank, and the Rotary Club of Greensburg. Thank you to the sponsors of the books and to the organizers of the event for inviting our students to this amazing program. 🐭🍪🐷🥞🐱🧁🐷🎉🐶🍩
